Package analysis

Bynder can automatically recognize that certain images are part of the InDesign or Adobe Illustrator file. If you click on the image, then in the detail view Bynder will show the JPG files as ingredients, which makes the feature similar related assets, only these assets are related automatically.

For Package Analysis to recognize your ingredient files correctly they need to be uploaded to your portal either before uploading the INDD or together with the INDD file. This is because there is a reference to the image in the Illustrator/ INDD file that package analysis uses to discover and relate files. So the ingredient files will not be linked if you upload them after the INDD file has already been uploaded.

Assets in the Waiting room are also analyzed.

When your assets are related, you can choose to download the InDesign file together with the related items as one package in a ZIP file.

Make sure you have this feature enabled for your account. Contact your Bynder Customer Success Manager for information and help with the setup.

When package analysis has been set up, if you upload an InDesign / Illustrator file with source files, Bynder will automatically recognize them and offer it as a package download option. Additionally, if you update a version of any of the related files, the updated version will be available when you download the package again.

  • If you upload related assets and the AI or the ID file together, or if you upload the related assets first and the AI or the IND file at a later stage, the related assets will be recognized as a part of the package. However, if you upload he AI or the IND file before the related assets, the related assets will not be recognized.
  • If you update versions of the related assets, make sure that the filenames are the same.
  • You can also relate files using the parentMediaID paramenter of the API. See API v4 documentation.
